Yala Safari – Block 1

Yala Safari – Block 5

Yala Block 5 is perfect for travelers seeking a calmer, less crowded safari. With fewer safari vehicles and a more forested environment, this block offers a relaxed wildlife experience while still providing excellent chances to see elephants, deer, birds, reptiles, and occasional leopard sightings.

Yala – Block 1

Block 1 is the most famous and frequently visited safari zone in Yala National Park. It is globally recognized for having one of the highest densities of Sri Lankan leopards. The landscape includes open grasslands, waterholes, scrub jungle, and coastal lagoons, creating excellent conditions for wildlife sightings. This block offers the best chances to see leopards, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, deer, and a wide variety of bird species, making it ideal for first-time visitors and wildlife photographers.

Yala – Block 2

Block 2 is a less frequently accessed area of Yala, known for its quieter environment and natural riverine landscapes. With fewer safari vehicles, wildlife here tends to be more cautious, offering a more authentic and undisturbed safari experience.

This block is rich in birdlife and natural ecosystems, with occasional sightings of elephants, deer, and other mammals. Access may be limited depending on park regulations and seasonal conditions.

Yala – Block 3

Block 3 is one of the largest and most remote sections of Yala, characterized by dense forests, open plains, and wetlands. It remains largely untouched and is closer to conservation-focused areas, offering a true wilderness experience.

Yala – Block 4
