Our Safari Experiences

Explore Yala’s Most Iconic Safari Zones with Expert Local Guides

A tailor-made safari gives you full flexibility and control over your experience. From selecting the safari block and duration to choosing pickup times and travel pace, every detail is planned to suit you.

Yala Block 1 is the heart of wildlife activity and the best zone for leopard sightings. With diverse landscapes including open grasslands, waterholes, scrub jungle, and lagoons, this block offers unforgettable wildlife encounters led by experienced local guides.

Yala Block 5 is one of the most remote and untouched sections of Yala National Park. Located east of the main Block 1 area, it offers a peaceful safari experience with fewer vehicles and a more authentic connection with nature.

Lunugamvehera National Park offers a peaceful safari experience away from crowds, known for its large elephant population, open grasslands, forested areas, and scenic reservoirs. This park is ideal for travelers who enjoy quiet nature, birdlife, and relaxed wildlife viewing.

Yala – Block 1

Block 1 is the most famous and frequently visited safari zone in Yala National Park. It is globally recognized for having one of the highest densities of Sri Lankan leopards. The landscape includes open grasslands, waterholes, scrub jungle, and coastal lagoons, creating excellent conditions for wildlife sightings. This block offers the best chances to see leopards, elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles, deer, and a wide variety of bird species, making it ideal for first-time visitors and wildlife photographers.

Yala – Block 2

Block 2 is a less frequently accessed area of Yala, known for its quieter environment and natural riverine landscapes. With fewer safari vehicles, wildlife here tends to be more cautious, offering a more authentic and undisturbed safari experience.

This block is rich in birdlife and natural ecosystems, with occasional sightings of elephants, deer, and other mammals. Access may be limited depending on park regulations and seasonal conditions.

Yala – Block 3

Block 3 is one of the largest and most remote sections of Yala, characterized by dense forests, open plains, and wetlands. It remains largely untouched and is closer to conservation-focused areas, offering a true wilderness experience.

Wildlife sightings can include elephants, deer, birds, and occasional leopards, though encounters are less predictable. This block is best suited for nature lovers, birdwatchers, and travelers seeking a deep connection with the natural environment.

Yala – Block 4

Block 4 is primarily reserved for conservation and environmental protection. Public safari access is usually restricted or unavailable, as the area plays a vital role in preserving Yala’s ecosystems and wildlife corridors.

While wildlife exists within this block, it is not commonly used for regular safari tours. Access may only be granted for special purposes such as research, conservation activities, or limited seasonal permissions.

Yala – Block 5

Block 5 offers a calmer and more relaxed safari experience compared to Block 1. With fewer vehicles and a more forested landscape, it is ideal for guests who prefer a peaceful environment while still enjoying quality wildlife encounters.

Elephants, deer, birds, reptiles, and occasional leopards can be spotted here. Block 5 is perfect for families, nature lovers, and travelers looking for a quieter safari with scenic surroundings.
